How do Service Tokens work? expand_more

Service tokens are prepaid credits used to process M-Pesa transactions (1 KES = 1 Token). Each successful M-Pesa payment callback consumes exactly 1 token. Tokens never expire and are credited immediately upon purchase.

What happens if an M-Pesa payment fails or is cancelled? expand_more

Thanks to our Zero-Token Protection system, tokens are reserved temporarily during the push prompt and released immediately if the user cancels or the transaction fails. No token is lost on failed attempts.

Can I use my own Till or PayBill shortcode? expand_more

Yes! Pay Lume allows you to link your custom Safaricom C2B Till or PayBill shortcode directly inside your settings portal using your own consumer keys and passkeys.

How are webhooks secured? expand_more

Every webhook notification sent by Pay Lume includes an `X-PayLume-Signature` HTTP header computed using HMAC-SHA256 with your account's secret webhook signing key. This prevents tampering and replay attacks.
